Argus!

Long awaited post!

Hey guys, sorry for the delay in posts, but its gone pretty hectic with Argus a few days away! Let’s hope the wind and rain stay away so we can get some solid sub3 Argus times!

Anyway, as you all know, I’m back on the bike, got the Nike running shoes and searching for a surf ski at the moment.. Where does this leave me? Well, maybe ill become an adventure racer!

I really love the training I’m doing at the moment and it also help me to understand what my Tri guys go thru after I sent them off to do a 3hour cycle and then they need to do a 12km run afterwards!

Mr. Armstrong and his crew will be arriving in CT today and no, I sadly don’t get to meet him! Anyway, I will see him somewhere on route of the Argus cycle tour.

Epic: wow, epic time hit us hard! Does really not feel like 16-18 weeks that I have spent with my Epic guys! Sorry boys and girls, we cant do anything to your fitness now (for the guys riding the Argus too), but we can help you condition your body for better performance…Taper.

In WKO+ you will notice that your CTL (blue line) will be dropping and no, this is not your fitness level that’s dropping, its just your current training load. Your TSB (training stress balance) will be going higher too, past 0 I hope J this mean that your freshness is pretty good in easy terms. Taper depends on how long you have been building/training for the race and what specific race it is. For the Epic we will rest you  more compared to the Argus. The epic is a multi stage event and one day is much harder than the riding the Argus route so you really need to be fresh when you hit the start line. Like they say “rather 5% undertrained that 1% over trained”
