Rain..

Posted by Peter Wright | 25 Jun 2009 | comments (0)

Training through winter is always a challenge, but with rain like we have had this past few days it is almost impossible to get out..

Tuesday was one of those days - we had planned our regular lap course and it rained all night. I got up and saw it was wet but not raining so we headed out. Four of us rolled down through town, with Jed saying those fateful words " I think we will be very lucky not to get wet today.."

Within 5 mins the heavens had opened and the rain was absolutely lashing down - 5 mins later we were as wet as we could get. We carried on, but with things reaching a climax at the top of the Glen I considered an early shower, but was talked into another lap by the boys.

Finally we finished and I rolled home to wring out my kit and stuff my sodden shoes with newspaper..

It was actually a great session and I found the power was there both times up the Glen so was pleased to have got it done.

2 days later however there has been no let up and no training...
