This ramp based test is used to establish an athletes peak maximal sustainable power output. In conjunction with the threshold test it helps to establish a base line for performance and is a great way to measure aerobic development.
The test lasts around 35 to 40 mins (including warm up) and is followed by a short consult and results summary.

Threshold Test

This test takes the form of a 20 minute time trial and is used to establish an estimated functional threshold power (FTP)and heart rate. This data will allow the athlete to set correct training zones and give an indication of current aerobic capacity (A predictor of performance in endurance type events)

This is the most comprehensive package of tests that we offer and consists of a Peak Power Output test, Threshold test, 5 minute, 1 minute and 5 second max test (This requires 3 visits) A full power profile is then generated that gives unique insight into an athlete's strengths and weaknesses. Also included is a 60 minute consultation to discuss the results and appropriate training.
